Doric is the solo, side-project of Stathis Leontiadis, mostly known as the one half of the Human Puppets, as well as the Exetix and Plexiglas. Doric is intrigued by the all analogue mentality of the late 70’s-early 80’s music field and passionately committed to vintage synths and machines, creating a very distinctive and specific sound result.
25 March at Boiler stage and it was the second time for me watching Doric live. Another  live performance with exclusive use of analogue electronics and drum machines .So without any laptops at all, the sound was being built on stage, just like the early 80's electronic scene. Minimal synth sounds in high tempo, danceable rythms and deep male vocals drawing on melancholic synthscapes and early eighties coldwave. Doric played songs from the 2 albums- a great performance.
The highlight of the show was the participation in 3 tracks (c.l.a , the maze , poets land) of  a special female voice- Valisia Odell (Phoenix catscratch, Strawberry Pills, Father Breath). The rhythmic and dark analogue sounds combined with the 80’s cold voice of Valisia and her flawless stage presence immediately took off the live and gave us a good example of what we could expect on an album in the future as a duo. Personal favourite of the show the track 'c.l.a'. In conclusion, a great show by two of the most talented mucicians in Greek underground scene.

18 March 2016 and the first Clock DVA show in Athens is a fact. The group was formed in 1978 by Adolphus “Adi” Newton and Steven “Judd” .The  band from Sheffield  along with Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle is one of the pioneers of industrial, EBM, cyberpunk, and electronic sound in general. CLOCK DVA nowadays consist from their natural leader Adi Newton , the "Tez" Maurizio Martinucci and Panagiotis Tomaras in visuals.

Through the lens of nostalgia, around 11 the clock started turning and the three producers appeared dressed in white, starting with "The Konstructor". Although the audience (including me) waiting some songs from the glorious past, the setlist was more ‘modern’ featuring songs especially from ‘Post-sign’ album and  singles such as Sound Mirror, The Hacker (Hacker RE_HACKED) from the past. It was obvious that Clock DVA came to Athens with more experimental electronic mood and without the appetite for a retrospect. The sound quality was very good.It was more or less a live installation of art with interesting visuals at backround following the hypnotic sounds.  Despite the setlist was not the best in my opinion, no one can argue with the fact that the sound ,the videos and the whole atmosphere was fantastic.

lyrics by Lory Fayer

I’d like to give you a dream that lasts
Or at least something you can trust
To lift your soul up to the heights
Beating strong the wings of faith

I’d like to give you a night to sleep
Without the nightmares that creep
The silence without voices that call
Without advices that make you fall

If I could drive you out of this cold
Bring you where the future unfolds
To The place where hopes can return
Even without the masks we worn

If I could promise you that tomorrow
You will forget suddenly all your sorrows
I’d like to tell you that youth is a gift
That you will find a port before you drift

But I can only offer you my silence
Instead of giving a false guidance
Because experience made me aware
That life is a journey across despair

I can only offer you my simpathy
when life will have no mercy
To heal at least for a little while
The sadness that stole your smile

DieSeele presents the limited edition 7" vinyl split single featuring the bands Remain In Light and The Moon In June released by Ars Nocturna. Specifically it contains the song "Dead Alaska" by Thessaloniki’s post-punk/goth rockers Remain In Light, while the other side features the track "Grey Skies April Skies" by the new ethereal wave band The Moon In June from Athens.

Remain In Light is Y (bass/lyrics/music),Elder K (vocals),Dok (guitar),Constantine (synth bass) ,Ghoul (drums) . The band has released a self-produced 6-track mini-LP "Introduction To A Dream" in early 2014 and the  track "Dead Alaska" is from their forthcoming second mini-LP "Splinters in Arcadia" due to be released sometime in 2016.The fans of oldschool postpunk will enjoy this song.

The Moon In June is a new project from Athens formed by Nick Drivas (previously of the darkwave/gothic band Distorted Image) and Marily Kitsiona on vocals. The duet had previously worked together in the indie bands Starblind and Soho 6. Now their music is stirred in a dark ethereal direction, with influences emanating from the wider dark ethereal scene with mainly that of the Cocteau Twins and Collection D'Arnell-Andrea. Although their first track "Grey Skies April Skies" was recorded in 2014, it was written by Nick way back in 1988. Dreamy guitar tunes by Nikos and Marily’s beautiful voice make an emotional song which is definitely worth investigating for  fans of ethereal music.

A song about something many of us felt during their life: to look back at the past and asking ourself what could have happened if we had made different choises; thining about how our life could have been following another path.... And the sudden conforting dream of a Parallel Universe where maybe there is an happier ourself is living an ideal life, a perfect love. A big thank you to Lady Ghost for her guest vocal.
